Why Try Chai?
Breakfast is the time when I do most of my kitchen experiments. I love making my own plant based milk, testing the magic of new superfoods and create new recipes to fuel my body with nutrients, to cleanse it and energize it. The Matcha chia pudding is the result of playing with ingredients after the holidays, when I overindulged and of course, gained some extra weight. This recipe turned to be the best option – it’s packed with nutrients that stimulate the natural detox processes in our bodies, gives you energy to go to the gym and is packed with fiber for a gentle digestive cleanse!
Chia pudding is a morning favorite in our house, but it was about time to upgrade the same old vanilla and chocolate flavorings. I usually have a Matcha latte in the morning too, so why not combining chia and matcha in the same recipe- and how nutritional will it be?
Matcha and Chia, A Nutritious Combination
You’ve already heard about the antioxidant powers of Matcha powder, and its mind awakening effects. There is also a another interesting feature of this vibrant green powder that really got my attention. Matcha is packed with the EGCG (Epigallocatechin Gallat) compound, linked to the weight loss benefits in green tea. This antioxidant boost your metabolism, especially during exercise, stimulating the fat burning three times more than the brewed green tea. Well, this is a feature that I was looking for!
The result of combining Matcha and chia seeds was a delicious pudding with immediate results in eliminating accumulated toxins and burning the extra weight. Chia seeds are not only packed with healthy monounsaturated fats that balance the hormone production and helps your metabolism to function in perfect parameters, but also with soluble fiber. The fiber in chia seeds creates a jelly-like mass which absorbs the excess cholesterol, old estrogens and any waste and toxins in your digestive system and flushes them out, preventing them to be leak back into your bloodstream. Case in point: matcha chai is a delicious and nutritious snack.
This matcha chia pudding is a great breakfast idea for those days when you are out of time, because you can prepare it the night before in lidded jars, and just grab it and have it at the office. It will give you energy and help your body gently cleanse, while keeping your mind aware and ready for a new day at work. I had this pudding before my morning workout and added also some fresh fruits to fuel my body cells with fresh enzymes and vitamins, and for an extra antioxidant kick. Best served with Organic Matcha.
